How to Gracefully Ignore: A.G.I.

Written By: Va Va Voom (Katrina)

The ability to gracefully ignore someone!
Is it possible?

Me oh my, let's recall those situations where we absolutely can't tolerate the presence of someone!  Whether that intolerance is a result of their past actions, annoying comments or their sheer selfishness, we can't just make them disappear, unless you know someone in the mob, hahaha!  But seriously, those irritating people are a way of life these days.  So the question is, how do we handle them?  Do you let get them get the best of us, do we act rude in return, do we spread gossip, or do we get even?  No to all of the above.

You develop what we call  AGI.  What is AGI, the Art of Gracefully Ignoring, and it works wonders.  We human are always curious by nature, right?  So let us give an example of how AGI works.  Two friends had been friends for many years until one friend found out that the other has been spreading nasty untrue rumors about her.  So the friend confronts the other about the rumors, unfortunately it does not solve anything.

That's where AGI fits in perfectly.  Those women still share mutual friends and have to be around each often.  Rather than acting like you are in high school and trying to get every other friend on your side, take the high road!  Ignore her gracefully, be civil and cordial  but you don't have to go out of your way to be warm and inviting, after all you tried to resolve her mistakes and she refused to budge.  The great thing about AGI is that you can do no wrong.  Have you ever heard an adult say, "she's ignoring me,"and goes to pout in the corner.  Are adults regressing back into childhood?

What people now need to realize is that you cannot treat people unkindly and expect no consequences.  AGI is the perfect solution to those unruly and uncharitable people!

The Art of Gracefully Ignorance is something Coco Chanel definitely had in her repertoire of talents, as does every successful women that experiences jealousy while climbing to the top.

A few successful women who probably experienced some level of jealous.  How did they handle it?

Feminine Appeal! Bethenny Frankel or Kate Middleton?

Written By: Ooh La La (Danielle Marie)

What makes a woman a woman?  What makes her ooze with femininity?

Is it her presence?  Her love of life?  Her style?  Her charity? Her personality and character?

Here at Provocative Manners we decided to pick two women who passionately love life, style and work for the well-being of others!  Now you may think that Bethenny Frankel and Kate Middleton are completely different women, and we totally agree, but they have each made a huge impact in their own way and with their own feminine touch!

Read about Bethenny Frankel's health and beauty routine at this link: http://theblush.com/2012/03/26/bethenny-frankel-interview/

Bethenny Frankel has a passion for adventure!  The adventures of life, family and business.  She has succeeded in ways no one believed was possible, except for her!  Bethenny is a true lover of life and a passionate entrepreneur.  The Skinny Girl Founder may have an edge to her, but that's what makes her an excellent buisness woman, mother, wife and friend.  When she commits, she commits with every ounce of her being.  What a wonderful trait for a woman to have!

The Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) has been the talk of the world for several years and surprisingly she has been able to keep herself grounded.  After all, the Duchess does deserve credit for that, she did marry the Future King of England.  Not only has Kate kept her poise, etiquette and sanity during her over-exposed life, but she has also contributed to several charities/foundations and doing all of this in fabulous style.  Yes, Kate Middleton has become a world fashion icon!  Who can really argue with that?  Don't be jealous and caddy just because she always looks amazing.  The best part, she buys High Street Fashion!  We can all appreciate that!

What's the lesson here?  Do you know who you are?  You don't have to be an exact replica of another person, but sometimes others may have amazing traits that we can try to emulate and use in our own lives.  Everyone wants to be the "complete package", every woman wants to have it all and do it all, but sometimes it's best for us to find out what our strengths are.  What makes us the woman we are?  And how can we work to improve that woman, not only for ourselves but for our families, our friends and our lovers.  How can we give back to those in need?  Your "complete package", whatever it maybe, is what makes you ooze with feminity.  So, have a personal presernce of love, character and charity and portray your feminine appeal!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall, Take a Look or Take a Fall

Written By: Danielle Marie Heckenkamp

It seems that everytime we go out, whether it's to the grocery store, the mall, the office, the park, a date or even a wedding, there's something missing!  You may ask, what's missing...?  Does anyone own a mirror?

Wait, maybe it's just a lack of common-sense.  We aren't talking about spending excessive amounts of time primping and prodding just to buy groceries!  No, we are talking about the basics here:

Did you brush your hair and teeth this morning?

Did you take a minute to put on some mascara, eyeliner and a dab of lip gloss? (Come on ladies, you know what your face needs to look awake!)

Are you wearing matching socks?  (And men, brown socks and black shoes do not compliment!  Don't even get us started on the white socks and black shoes!)

Did you even get dressed?  And no, pajama pants that look like yoga pants do not count!

These questions might seem ridiculous and wreak of common-sense but for some reason common-sense is extremely lacking in today's society!  Why is it so hard for people to put themselves together in the morning?  We don't mean you have to leave the house looking like Kate Middleton (even though she always looks fabulous!) but give yourself 15-20 minutes to get ready and make a little more effort with a little less laziness.  You will be amazed at the results!

NO EXCUSES!

"Carelessness in dressing is moral suicide." ~Honoré de Balzac

You think there is no time to get ready for work in the morning?  Think again!  Here's your solution: wake up 20 minutes earlier!

You think that your children must look put together for school, and there is no time left for you?  Think again!  Here's your solution:  wake up 20 minutes earlier!  Get yourself dressed first and then wake up the family.  Children will lead by example.

You think, "this is my day off, why should I get dressed?"  Please reconsider this thought process...  If you plan on staying home, that's fine, wear the yoga pants but at least brush your hair and apply a small amount of makeup.  You may have an unwelcome guest sooner than you think.  If you do leave the house to run errands, most definitely PUT YOURSELF TOGETHER!  You might run into a client, future client, past co-worker, old highschool crush or future lover!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS DO COUNT!

Unfortunately, the theory of "individuality" has been taken to an extreme!  An extreme of laziness, self-deprecation, lack of common-sense and in the end, just irresponsible as the next person.  You won't lose your personal style or values by dressing with style!  It has become abnornal to see a woman put together with clothing fitted properly, makeup complimenting her facial features and her feminine physique isn't hidden behind frumpy t-shirts.  Men, show your masculinity, be proud of it!  Don't wear baggy pants and t-shirts (enough said!).  Please get rid of the Hawaiian shirts or save them for Hawaii.  Why is it so hard for men to wear a polo and khaki pants?  Here's a tip:  Women love a well-dressed man!  Use that to your advantage!

Lesson learned?

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."  ~ Coco Chanel
